TENNESSEE TITANS
SAM DARNOLD
The Tennessee Titans are in a re-tool stage after parting with their former GM and hiring Mike Borgonzi to take over the helm alongside second year HC Brian Callahan. 2024 was all about seeing what the team could get from QB Will Levis but it seems apparent that the team will likely search for another QB for 2025 and beyond. While they are in the driver seat to potentially draft their QB of the future after securing the first overall pick, Borgonzi and Callahan could look for a veteran presence to take control of the position which could lead to the top QB on the market in Sam Darnold. The journeyman passer had a career year in 2024 with Minnesota and will likely secure a big time contract still in his prime. If the Titans want a QB with experience, Darnold is the best one available and comes with the benefit of being young enough to build around for the foreseeable future.
NEW YORK GIANTS
SHEDEUR SANDERS OR CAM WARD
New York finally moved on from QB Daniel Jones and with the front office and HC Brian Daboll on the hot seat, they could look to pair themselves with a rookie in the first round like ShEdeur Sanders or Cam Ward. The Giants are in a tough situation due to the lack to QB talent on the free agent market coupled with questions surrounding the group in this year’s draft class but its clear that Sanders and Ward are likely their best options and could use a breath of fresh air from either rookie.
LAS VEGAS RAIDERS
RUSSELL WILSON
The Las Vegas is once again looking to rebuild their culture and have made big strides so far this offseason led by the hiring of HC Pete Carroll in hopes he can turn around the Raiders. Most football fans know that Pete Carroll had most of his professional success in Seattle when paired with QB Russell Wilson and could look to reunite out west. The veteran QB had a decent season with the Steelers leading them back to playoffs but looking for a new contract and could lead him to look elsewhere in 2025. The thought of Carroll trying to lead the charge in Las Vegas with Wilson as his QB for a season or two just feels like it could happen and wouldn't be a surprise to anyone.
PITTSBURGH STEELERS
AARON RODGERS
Since the departure of long time Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger, the team has been searching for their next signal caller and had a few cracks at the position including Kenny Pickett, Mason Rudolph and Russell Wilson and have yet to find the right fit. Pittsburgh is not in a position to start over and draft their next starter so why not swing for the fences with a future HOF QB in Aaron Rodgers. The former MVP had less than stellar time in New York and after they hired their new HC Aaron Glenn, they decided Rodgers was not in their future plans. The Steelers have a championship caliber defense and a couple good pieces on offense so why not go all in and see if they can get one last good run out of Rodgers.
NEW YORK JETS
JUSTIN FIELDS
The Jets tried to make a run with Aaron Rodgers but it was clear they wanted to go in a new direction with Aaron Glenn and why not look for a fresh start with Justin Fields. The former Steelers QB had some early success before being benched for Russell Wilson and is still one of the better dual threat QBs in the league. While he may not be the most effective passer, he is an athletic specimen who could bring some much needed juice to the Jets offense with WR Garrett Wilson and RB Breece Hall.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS
JJ MCCARTHY
Rounding out the list are the Minnesota Vikings who by default will go with their 2024 first round pick JJ McCarthy. The Michigan standout suffered a season ending injury coupled with the breakout of Sam Darnold leading to redshirt season for McCarthy giving him the chance to learn HC Kevin O’Connell’s offense. Now there could still be some rust since McCarthy is still recovering from injury but the second year QB has plenty of talent and potential to take over for Darnold in hopes to lead the Vikings back to the playoffs.
