2025 NFL DRAFT- FAVORITE DRAFT CLASSES

The NFL Draft has come and gone and it was as always a great time! It was fun to see where the top prospects get drafted and the potential story lines to follow and as always the trades that shake up the first round that causes a ripple affect for the following rounds. Now of course all of these draft picks are up in the air and could mean nothing this time next year but its a fun exercise to delve into my favorite draft classes at the very least on paper and potential impacts for 2025. Bear in mind there were a lot of quality draft picks will make a statement this season but below are my favorite draft classes from last week’s 2025 NFL Draft.

CLEVELAND BROWNS

MASON GRAHAM DEFENSIVE LINE
CARSON SCHWESINGER LINEBACKER
QUINSHON JUDKINS RUNNING BACK
DYLAN SAMPSON RUNNING BACK
SHEDEUR SANDERS QUARTERBACK
DILLON GABRIEL QUARTERBACK

There was no team who had a better draft in my books than the Cleveland Browns. General Manager Andrew Barry started off the draft with a bang by trading their #2 overall pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for the #5 overall pick and future picks including their 2026 first round pick. With their first pick the Browns added a stud on the interior of their DL with Michigan’s Mason Graham who should pair nicely with their franchise defender Myles Garrett for the foreseeable future. The Browns followed up on day 2 with a future starting LB in UCLA’s Carson Schwesinger and their week 1 starting RB, at the point, in Ohio State’s Quinshon Judkins who will look to alleviate some of the pressure with Nick Chubb still unsigned. Their first pick surprise was adding a QB on day 2 with Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel and made some question how far we’d see the fall of Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders. To pair with Judkins, the Browns also added some speed in their RB room with Tennessee’s Dylan Sampson and rounding out their class is Sanders of course who will look to compete for a role in their QB room for 2025 and beyond.

NEW YORK GIANTS

ABDUL CARTER EDGE
JAXSON DART QUARTERBACK
DARIUS ALEXANDER DEFENSIVE LINE
CAM SKATTEBO RUNNING BACK

New York started their draft with the consensus pick at #3 overall in Penn State defender Abdul Carter who was regarded as one of the top 2 or 3 prospects and will look to form a dangerous pass rush with Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux. Towards the end of the draft the Giants traded back into the first round to get Head Coach Brian Daboll his QB of the future in Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart tying the future of Daboll and General Manager Joe Schoen to the talents of the Rebel prospect. The Giants also drafted two other prospects who will look to contribute often in 2025 in Toledo DL Darius Alexander and Arizona State RB Cam Skattebo who is a bruising runner and should bring to some juice to their RB room. The Giants added some quality pieces and look to be heading in the right direction.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

GREY ZABEL OFFENSIVE LINE
NICK EMMANWORI SAFETY
ELIJAH ARROYO TIGHT END
JALEN MILROE QUARTERBACK

Seattle made one of the more surprising picks in the top 20 when they opted to upgrade their OL with North Dakota State’s Grey Zabel who had one of the best Senior Bowl performances in the last few years as a potential interior lineman. In the second round, the Seahawks traded up for South Carolina defender Nick Emmanwori, the star of this year’s combine, and a perfect project for Head Coach Mike MacDonald’s defense as he looks to build up his next Kyle Hamilton. Seattle also added who high upside offensive prospects in Miami TE Elijah Arroyo who can be a decent offensive weapon as a rookie, and Alabama QB Jalen Milroe as he aims to learn the Seahawks offense behind Sam Darnold. Seattle made some big moves this offseason and 2025 could be a paramount year for their future.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

WILL CAMPBELL OFFENSIVE LINE
TREVEYON HENDERSON RUNNING BACK
KYLE WILLIAMS WIDE RECEIVER
JARED WILSON CENTER
BRADYN SWINSON EDGE

Heading into the 2025 draft, it was no secret that the New England Patriots had to build around their young QB Drake Maye and they certainly accomplished their mission from the jump. At #4 overall the Patriots added a nasty lineman who will look to project as their starting LT in LSU’s Will Campbell. Campbell is an experienced lineman who plays with toughness and heart every game and will look to protect Maye as best as possible on every snap. In the second round the Patriots added a quality RB in Ohio State’s TreVeyon Henderson who can compete for the starting RB role with Rhamondre Stevenson and has the homerun ability that they need this upcoming season. Needing more explosiveness on offense, the Patriots also added Washington State WR Kyle Williams and a potential long-term C in Georgia’s Jared Wilson cementing that this off-season is meant to build around Maye for the future. Rounding out their draft class is LSU defender Brandyn Swinson who was viewed as a potential second round pick and fell to day 3 making him one of the better value picks for EDGE defenders.
